Family historian. Provided most of records for Jesse Pepper descendants. She attended school in Calhoun City, and college at Mississippi State College for Women, graduating in 1963 with majors in English and history, and did graduate work at both Wake Forest University, from which she received her Master of Arts degree in English, and the University of Virginia. Following her mother's death, she returned home from the University of Virginia without finishing work on a doctorate there and began teaching in September of 1966 in the English Department at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi, where she also served as the Business mnager for "The Mississippi Quarterly," a scholarly journal published by the University. After teaching eighteen years at Mississippi State University, she resigned in May of 1984, and began working for her husband in the Calhoun County Chancery Clerk's Office. She continued as his deputy until his retirement in January of 1992.
